The shoe tells a story about the person who is wearing them - this is especially the case for men. There is a general belief that women on average have more shoes in their collection than men, however the latter are certainly catching up. The shoe has the power to provide the wearer with confidence and allow others to judge the wearer based on what sort of shoe they are wearing. Research has shown that what women first look for in a guy is their hair and their shoes. Shoes have never been so important as they are now.

The shoe is a gateway to the person's personality. A shoe that is full of colour and intricate design will mostly be worn by those that are more extrovert than others. These people will be more outspoken and vibrant - thus matching their shoes. A plain, simple trainer for example displays the fact that the wearer is slightly more laid back and introvert. Someone with a bit of class who hangs around the more formal social scene will no doubt wear expensive brown or black brogues.
